Daniel Calabrese is an Argentine poet born in Dolores, province of Buenos Aires, who lives in Chile. With his first book of poetry, La faz errante (1990), he won the Alfonsina Storni Prize. It was followed by Futura ceniza (1994), Escritura en un ladrillo (1996), Singladuras (1997), Oxidario (2001, National Fund for the Arts Award) and Ruta Dos (2013 and 2017), which won the Books Magazine Award in Chile and it was published in the Visor collection in Madrid with a prologue by Raúl Zurita. The Italian edition was nominated for the Camaiore Internazionale Award among the five best foreign works. Compás de espera (2022) is his most recent book, based on his experience as a teenage soldier during the Falklands War. Books and anthologies of his poetry have been published in more than ten countries and part of his work has been translated into Italian, English, French, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Greek, Chinese and Japanese. He is the founder and director of Ærea. Revista Hispanoamericana de Poesía, and a member of the International Council of the Vicente Huidobro Foundation.

Le siguieron Futura ceniza (1994), Escritura en un ladrillo (1996), Singladuras (1997), Oxidario (2001, Premio del Fondo Nacional de las Artes) y Ruta Dos (2013 y 2017) que ganó el Premio Revista de Libros en Chile y se publicó en la colección Visor de Madrid con prólogo de Raúl Zurita. La edición italiana estuvo nominada al Premio Camaiore Internazionale entre las cinco mejores obras extranjeras. Compás de espera (2022) es su libro más reciente, basado en su experiencia como soldado adolescente durante la Guerra de las Malvinas. Se publicaron libros y antologías de su poesía en más de diez países y parte de su obra está traducida al italiano, inglés, francés, portugués, búlgaro, griego, chino y japonés. Es fundador y director de Ærea, Revista Hispanoamericana de Poesía, y miembro del Consejo Internacional de la Fundación Vicente Huidobro en Chile.
